The term “trompe l’oeil” in fashion is borrowed from art, where a designer makes a piece of clothing look like something it’s not. In Maje’s case, the Raprinode dress is meant to look like a jersey tee tucked into a flowing patterned midi skirt – a ready made outfit on one. Our favourite part of this is the faux-sleeves, made to look like you have a shirt tied around your waist; all you need to add shoes.
